I bought it for the wife as gift B’day to replace its tiny and always bearing SD450 (5 MB, are not present NOT and 3 years). SD880 – much more the best chamber, is less than cost, than SD450 has made in 2005 and is still tiny (are entered in the same case). Improvements – many: an ultrasharp 28-millimetric wide-angle objective with 4X increase in scale of the image, 3? Bright and clear the least the general multiple, both optical stabilisation of the image and new (as it is the size), 10MP the gauge.

Some reviews those here inform on worthless images and-or high noise levels, but not my results, at least not concerning other point and hunting chambers. I have checked up SD880 against: its Canon SD450 (5MP), my Fudzhi F31fd (6MP) and borrowed Panasonic LX-3 (10MP).

Images SD880 are sharper than any of three other chambers at the same f-stops and focal lengths. It – especially true rather SD450. Considering family tree Leica on fast (f2.0-2.8) 24-60mm to lens LKS-3 of the first-rate quality I expected that it will be sharper, than tiny SD880 so has been surprised to find much sharper images with SD880 even about shot edges. Though Fudzhi only 6MP, it is to the relatives in sharpness to SD880, but only in the good indicator in lower International organisation on standardization.

SD880 Makes lower distortion of the image in the high International organisation on standardization (400) both than SD450 and than LX-3. Beating LX-3 in this test in the International organisation on standardization 400, 800 and 1600 also surprised given a little biggest the size of gauge LKS-3. Fudzhi have the lowest noise level in the high International organisation on standardization, BUT images become excessively smoothed with smaller sharpness either than SD880 or than LKS-3. SD880 keeps more sharpnesses than Fudzhi as the International organisation on standardization is turned to 800 and 1600, but really had more distortions. The international organisation on standardization of 400 distortions are low with SD880 and images, it is suitable for use in the International organisation on standardization 800. Other advantage of low indicator SD880 (at least for almost constant scenes) is optical. It really works and allows lower values of the International organisation to be used on standardization with longer speeds of a shutter. My wife often washed away shots on should SD450 to chamber movement. Has helped to reduce it much.

UPDATE: the optics on SD880 my wife is so sharp that I have decided to receive that also. My copy makes softer photos, not really indistinct and about so sharp as 6MP Fudzhi, but without clearness of the first-rate quality of the first SD880. I can is clear to see distinction. My reconsidered conclusion consists that it is possible, but not indisputable to receive the Canon 880IS with exclusively sharp optics. For this reason I would lower the estimation to 4 stars if Amazon resolves (they do not do). Good luck.
